Kitchen faucets

I am installing a single bowl Blanco sink in my kitchen.

In looking at faucets I see the Industrial ones are popular.

Are they too “trendy” and will get old quickly?

I would look for good quality faucets for which you can get repair parts: e.g., Delta or Kohler. They make faucets in a range of styles, including industrial.

Blanco faucets are good too. I don't particularly care for the high arc industrial kitchen ones. If you do, I don't think they are in any way getting less popular, so a fine choice.

It depends on where your sink is and how much of a "feature" you want it to be. Industrial faucets are tall. I didn't want a prominent industrial faucet on my island. I chose a Perrin and Rowe with a living finish because it is, in my opinion, beautiful. Try out the faucets and make sure you like how they function because in the end you use it..a lot.

Consider getting a touchless faucet - I love mine.

I spent hours looking at faucets this weekend. I think I’m going with Newport Brass East Linear. I went in thinking I wanted a pre-rinse faucet but none of the ones I liked had good reach for a wide sink. My favorite “pre-rinse” was Blanco Culina, but like the functionality of the NB better.

hemina, do a search on NB. There are several of us that have not been happy with NB over the last few years. I did 2 bathrooms with NB faucets, fixtures & accessories. I keep a hex key at my desk because every few weeks I have to go around and tighten all the set screws in all the NB stuff or they just fall apart. Never had any other brand do that, even much cheaper brands.

I got 2 Franke faucets for my kitchen remodel. Just installed 2 weeks ago and I am having a problem with the handle and set screw in the main faucet. Emailed Franke over the weekend and they responded first thing on Monday and mailed out a replacement part. Great response on their part. I hope it fixes the problem. It seems I am cursed with set screw problems!

That’s interesting Chispa...I can’t find too many reviews online so your personal experience is helpful. It is a pricy item so that does concern me. Maybe I should just stick to the Kohler simplice like I had for years!

I would definitely recommend Kohler over NB. I have had quality, customer service, and shipping issues with them in the past. They may have improved in the years since. But, being burned twice, I was not willing to give them a third chance.

Pre-rinse faucets can be too much for some kitchens. They are tall and definitely not unobtrusive. On the other hand, they do their job well and are the epitome of convenience. No pullout or pull down, just grab and spray. Typically they will reach all parts of a sink with a forceful spray. I like mine very much, but you do have to be a little careful where you aim it.

If you are going to get a commercial faucet, buy an actual commercial faucet from a company like Chicago Faucet or T & S Brass and Bronze. These all brass faucets were designed for a busy restaurant environment and are very robust. The "semi-professional" home versions offered by Franke and other manufacturers of home faucets simply do not compare.

Make sure the faucet is equipped with a spout that is separate from the spray. Many commercial faucets are spray only.
