what color Rug? neutral? cowhide? pattern?

I kind of like the simplicity of no rug. but need the later. under half the Bed? Or a small one in front? I like the neutralness, but could use color.

I would say a fun pattern would look good in your room, I like the Ikat rug for this space (if you decide to go for the larger option), these come available in a wide range of colors too:

Given how neutral your room is you can almost go with anything. It needs some color even if it's soft. Here's a designer rule of thumb I tell all my clients. Always start with the rug, and/or bedding and then move on. Last is always the paint on the walls. There is only so much bedding and rug options out there and tons of furniture pieces and almost endless paint colors. Worked with the most limited and work out to make the process easier.

I actually like having runners or smaller area rugs on each side of the bed. The are cheaper and the majority of the rug isn't hidden under the bed. I don't feel so guilty changing them out like I would if I spent a lot for a large rug.

Agree Cheryl Smith. i did that for years. I had 2 small ones at side of bed, they were matching. and then a larger one that had same colors, but that was a different pattern than the 2 sides. We did that for years, so was thinking of changing it up w/ one rug , half under the bed, half sticking out. We have a new color scheme in the blue/ greys. Thanks !!
