Can you tell me how high the bottom platform is?

I'm trying to decide if I need a regular sized box spring, or a shorter one for this bed. What are the measurements for the bottom of the bed specifically?

    Dear Customer,


    We reached out to the manufacturer and the following response is the following:

    "The height of the footboard is between 8-9 in. The type of mattress used is completely up to the customer. There is no recommended mattress type. "
