Which border is best?

I've had this on my wall for a few days now. I'm not sure I like this border. I had planned on pink. This is a quilt for SO's niece. He's (red/green) color blind, so suggested a blue border. I explained there was no blue in the quilt, so you can't introduce a totally new color in the border. He pointed to the turquoise as the blue, so I bought some. Later, it dawned on me that he chose that color because he can see it, not because it looks better.

I can't decide if it really doesn't frame the quilt well, or I'm just stuck on pink because it was my original idea (and it's one of my favorite colors).

I didn't do nearly the great job that Larri did with the photo editing, but it gives a good idea of the differences.

What do you think?

I like both but I think I prefer the turquoise. It's a complementary color to the pink in the quilt and to me is more visually pleasing.

Chiming in for the turquoise. To me, it exudes bright, cheerful, modern, and girl.

Wow! I didn't expect that. One good thing about it - no ripping, no re-sewing. The second good thing is that the SO is happy it's staying turquoise.

I bought some special fabric for the binding when I planned to use pink. (I'm currently into biased striped bindings.) I'll ask your opinion on it when I get there. I'm doubting it will work with the turquoise. Fortunately, I bought enough of the solid turquoise to bind it.

I'm working on Jackie's baby quilt and also picked up my "cowboy quilt" from the long armer today, so it will be a little while before I get to finish this one.

Another vote for the turquoise. Somehow the pink just pops too much and takes away from the quilt.
