I'll give you some of my favorites, I do have a soft spot for the minis. Top picks would be: Little Wonder, Kabitan, Baby Bunting and Venusta, all make my top 10 favorite list of hostas in any size.

Also very partial to Blue Mouse Ears, Green Mouse Ears, Emerald Gem, and Gracillima. In the Lakesides, Baby Face, Downsized, Dot Com, Lime Time, Little Gem, Flamenco Mouse, and Zinger.

Then some classics, Twist of Lime, Feather Boa, Tot Tot, Tiny Tears, Purple Lady Fingers, Allan P. McConnell, Blue Jay, Bitsy Gold and Bitsy Green, and Surprised By Joy.

Not as often seen but also recommended would be Lemon Lime, Ops, O'Harra, Saishu Jima, Hime, Kifukirin Ko Mame, The Twister, Limey Lisa, Paradise Sunset (going to make my top 10 list once it's really mature), Extasy, Quill, Funny Bones, Nakaiana, Dewdrop, Cracker Crumbs, Cookie Crumbs, Dixie Chickadee, Daisy Doolittle, Lime Shag, Wiggle Worms, Inca Gold, Maui Blue Kitten, and Estrelita. I grow quite a few more minis, but most are not likely to appeal to many people--I have a thing for little solid colored hostas that is not widely shared. Other varieties are nearly impossible to find, and some are quite difficult to grow, so I won't list those.

I'm with you there dhaven Itsy Bitsy Spider is a favorite.

I'm not really qualified to recommend these yet, because they are new for me this year... but so far, so good.

In the small terracotta pot is Smiling Mouse, in the trough is Hi Ho Silver and venusta, and some kind of vine that I thought was cute:

The minis do look particularly good in a nice trough, such a nice way to display the little ones.

I recently picked up High Society (this is so gorgeous) and Rainbow's End (a unique one to my collection).

I love 'em all! In addition to those mentioned already, I like Cheatin' Heart a lot. But it's hard to pick a favorite. I like/want them all!

Newb here but I do have a blue mouse ears that appears to be thriving (first hosta I divided) and looks great.

Skip Cameo and Pandora's box, they hard to grow. Dinner Mint and Cracker crumbs are good growers. Most dwarf ones as in true mini really do not look good unless they are in some elevated formation either bed or potting.

Chicago here, individual pots get overwintered planted in the soil and big tubs just get covered loosely with tarp to prevent water build up during winter.

Peanut - you can see it on the nearby stone. Not a fan of minis (yet) and these may be more small than mini (but they're mini (and new) to me). Little Treasure

Golden Tiara is my favorite small hosta. In fact my only small hosta. It is perfectly content to grow a heavy clump in the shade o a huge citrina daylily. Perfectly hardy here and very drought tolerant as well.

Lindalana, do you mean you remove them from the pots and plant them in the ground for winter, or sink the whole pot in the ground? Thanks. I have a couple minis I bought for container planting, have not decided yet how to deal with that. I overwintered one in a plastic pot last winter, laid on its side and covered with leaves, but I really want to use clay or ceramic pots.

Do the minis winter in pots under lights inside? Some of those seem like naturals for some of the bonzai pots. Then you could possibly have winter display of some of those so pretty little ones.

They are still hostas so need cold winter. I do both but true minies better pot in the ground as it harder for me to find them in the spring.

Blue Mouse Ears 5/23. This is just after I divided it and the first time Ive divided a hosta. Other half is doing well. It is next to a P. Pungens Sester Dwarf. Its going to need to be moved in a few years.

pinkdaisydreams I can give you a piece of Pandora's Box to try next spring. Here is a picture of mine (17 of them) in spring. They look poorly now as they were attacted be slugs (or some other plague).
