Curtain problem

Hi,

I have an open concept living and breakfast area. I have been working on a small budget to have my curtains looking acceptable. If you look at the pic you’ll notice several things. The tile floor in the dining area and carpet in the living room, the different colored curtains in each space, the rod pocket style curtains in the living while I used the existing rail for vertical blinds to hand the current curtain with curtain clips/pins. Lastly I used the 84“ curtains in my living space so I’m having trouble with getting enough height and also having curtain skim the carpet. On one windows, you see me using the “higher pocket” to lower the curtain as an experiment. My question is really...can I get away with it given the imperfections, or are the issues eye sores to those naturally inclined for decorating? Thanks in advance for your input.
