I rarely say mirror, but in this case I will. But a statement mirror.

I think you have enough hard surfaces at work here. Why not something softer like a tapestry or rug? You could go with a modern motif or a classic tapestry style, a traditional quilt or an asian wall hanging. Whatever would fit with your style.

I too think the mantel is to thin. It needs to be more defined.

I would have kept the width the same at the top... Also, the hearth looks unnecessary. I would have just done the entire fireplace without the hearth and mantel. That said, it is nice looking "as is". Just picky details

Thank you all for your feed back. I Will have my stone fabricator make a thicker mantle and I will do away with the hearth. Also I'm going to add a piece of art to the center and some lights above as well. You guys are great
