Which white for cabinets?

Considering these cabinets white (not changing countertops at this time)....with so many whites out there, which white is best for kitchen cabinets with Baltic Brown countertops? Which white paint color has everyone else used in painting cabinets? My trim in house is now white dove OC-17 and tried it on another cabinet in another part of house and it didn’t do anything for the cabinets. Main walls in house are revere pewter

I see no reason to paint those cabinets white. They look nice. It’s your backsplash that is the problem.

Just installed backsplash recently. Previously was square travertine that was neutral from 2006-2007.
Very hard to get a picture of backsplash because in real life it looks great. Can’t get my camera to capture the real life look

Better picture of backsplash and countertop

Then change the granite counters which you said you weren’t doing, so I didn’t suggest it initially. The cabinets look nice, they’re not the problem. It will cost you as much or more to paint the cabinets as to change the counters, unless you hire a hack to do paint, and then you will not be happy with that result, and still have the counters to contend with.

No one is doing this cabinet color anymore that I’ve seen. Would like to keep granite for now.

Looking at the photos I agree with M Miller that the backsplash and counters do not seem to go together. If it were me I would change the counters and leave cabinets as is. Good luck!

M Miller - if it was you keeping the cabinets as is, what type and color countertops would you choose? Can you show me some pictures?
I’m just worried this cabinet color is from 2006-2007 and not a current color people are using nor timeless

Flo Mangan - what else besides white quartz? We built a wet bar downstairs with white quartz I think it’s called, gray veins and I don’t love it. Can see the seams a lot more, plus it’s not shiny like this granite. It’s more matte looking

Quartz with veins is impossible to seam well. I would check out granite such a white and black. I will find some examples if you don’t want plain white quartz. Bbl

Your backsplash competes too much with your counters. If you love your backsplash then choose something less busy for your counters so your eye will be attracted to the backsplash. Right now I there is too much going on. Your cabinets are lovely, don't change them.

I love granite counters, but not in this kitchen. Granite--both what you have and any other granite you might replace it with--is too busy with your backsplash. Your backsplash, since it is new and you love it, must govern what you choose for counters. Counters need to be quiet with no pattern. You can find that in quartz or Corian. Do not paint your cabinets, they are pretty the way they are. Painting might look nice for now, but in a year or two you run the risk of chips and bleed-through. Not worth it when they are pretty the way they are now.

You might want to consider hiring a designer on an hourly basis to help you choose a color of counter. Limit the scope of work for the designer to just that, so that the fees don't run up more than what you need to do. We can't help you choose over the internet because each monitor shows color differently. You can go with a designer to a quartz showroom, bringing with you a sample of your backsplash and a cabinet door, and s/he --who has a trained eye -- will help you choose which color counter would be best.

Agree with the others. White will make your counters and backsplash look harsh and will not work with them. The cabinets you have now soften the backsplash. Pick a color from the backsplash in quartz for your counters.

There are quiet granites, but they tend to be darker; which might work well with your gray walls & gray in backsplash. Steel gray & Virginia Mist are two that come to mind immediately but there are others.

Why do you want to pull your counters out. Pick the oval backsplash like you have in white or cream and let the grout show. It will be a similar effect. So you can love it. The existing backsplash doesn't work but that needs swapping not a full counter rip out.
