I should note that I don’t HAVE to move the fridge down 15”. I just thought that since we weren’t using the space for something else anymore, and the upper cabinets are currently 30” to the left of the stove and 15” to the right, it might look better to have both upper cabinets 30” wide.

My other idea is a stand alone hutch of some sort, which a bigger space would allow finding the right one much easier.

Will you be framing in the doorway so there will be a wall there? I would move the fridge to the other wall between the windows. That would also make the fridge convenient to the dining area. In the new space, you can put tall pantry cabinets and more counterspace.

What kind of plan has s straight through view from the front door to the side of the fridge and a DW?
