Hi Agartta, sorry to see you’re having rot issues. It might be too late to save the baby plant, but the larger plant may be ok. Just do your best with it for now and hopefully the weather will warm up soon to help it along. Good luck with your plants :)

Can I just say, I understand wanting to starve your plants of water during Winter...but they still need the occasional drink to survive, especially the seedlings. Although it’s been a colder then normal Winter for us in Brisbane we still lightly water our seedlings about once every 7-10 days (on a warm day). If we didn’t do this they would dessicate and rot....Our plants are left outside in the yard all Winter, but get the warmth from the sun all day.

Rachel - the adult plants I water a little bit once a week. The seedlings every 2 days with a spray bottle. I still got the bulk of about 100 adeniums including seedlings which are doing very well. Its very rare when I loose a plant. We had storms, strong winds and hail in Perth, on and off for the last 2 -3 weeks. If I didnt have the greenhouse, the whole plant nursery would've looked very sad.

I can't wait to see my babies bloom for the first time :-).

Agartta, your weather there, has been worse then ours. Our morning temps have been colder then normal but our daytime temps warm up and feel more like early Spring. We have been lucky and have had very little rain this Winter.

Hopefully your weather will improve for you soon, meanwhile keep your favourite plants in the greenhouse and just do your best to care for them. Happy growing.
