Shrubs that bloom in spring on old wood should be pruned after flowering. If you prune in fall or winter you will be removing buds.

These bloom small.

Install it, keep it watered, and let it get established before you worry about flowers and pruning it. Time enough for that next spring.

agree with above.... except for broken or damaged material .... i let trees and shrubs get established for a year or 3 .. before i start forcing my aesthetic on the plants ...

every leaf is a food making machine.. so leave them attached to the plant.. for a year or two.. to feed the plant.. to grow the roots.. to get established ... imo fert is not a substitute ....

Here was my established one blooming after leaves expanding, picture date is 5/22/18.

I haven't looked recently but last year, we had some plump ripe cherries in the fall. :-) I don't grow this for fruit but was fun to see them there and I did eat a few.

I agree, pruning late will minimize the flowering for next year.
