What to do with layout 16x8 space in between two bedrooms?

Hi All

We have two bedrooms that have a 16ftx8ft space in between them, with the bedrooms on the 8ft sides.

I was hoping that I'd be able to add two bathrooms and two closets in the space, but it's been difficult to find a configuration that works. I'm thinking the bathrooms would end up being super tiny. I know that European bathrooms tend to have more creative layouts. I'm also open to configurations that may take half a foot off each bedroom to make it 16ft x 9ft or even 16ft x 10ft if the two extra feet would help fit the two pieces I need.

I'm planning to rent out these rooms and rooms with a private bath can command a higher rate.

Thanks in advance for any ideas. I also realize I might have to completely give up this idea. But at least having something to show contractors might get me somewhere.

Leave 11x9 bedroom as is and leave that bathroom as is.

Mirror image the bathroom taking the space out of the WIC.

I doubt that the amount this cost will be worth it for the small amount of extra rent you can charge.

you could look at having separate toilet/sink entries and a shared shower. Kind of odd for a room rental situation but gets semi private baths.

Without seeing the exact layout it's hard to say for sure, but practically speaking a minimum bathroom size is 5x8 and a closet is 2.5' deep. So theoretically 2 bathrooms and two closets should fit, though it would be tight. And of course it depends on the exact configuration

I agree an actual detailed floor plan of what you have is needed. If you already have bedrooms they must have closets so why more closet space for rentals>

@apple_pie_order right now I have one large walk in closet, one bathroom, and one small closet. We haven't gotten into which are load bearing just yet. @patriciacolwellconsulting and @MDoshi See layout below.

@patricia, it's not more closet for the rentals, it's that there are already closets in that space and reconfiguration should be sure to keep closets.
