A pothos would need to be watered more than the sansevieria

Perhaps so. My large pothos gets watered every 3 weeks but a small one might need water more often. I might try with a cutting and see what happens.

I've never done it, but it would be worth a try. Test it out with a cutting, pothos are hardy enough that if the pot ends up being too dry, you could still salvage the cutting and propagate it somewhere else.
