Cabinet hardware help

Hi there! I am buying a new built home and it’s time to pick the hardware. The cabinets are maple with a chestnut stain, the floor is a dark engineered hardwood. The faucets are an oil rubbed bronze. The stair spindles are black and so are the lighting fixtures. I’m making decor choices for a transitional style. What color and shape hardware do you suggest?

Thank you! I did not choose the faucet actually. The house wasn’t completed yet when I put in the offer so the builder is letting me choose the finishes he hasn’t yet installed. Great idea on getting a sample of each color and see what I like best. Thanks!

Are you asking for hardware throughout or just the kitchen?

Is the kitchen faucet ORB, too? If so then I'd go with brush/satin brass hardware in there.

Thank you! I was thinking just kitchen but yes I will need to choose hardware for the bathrooms and laundry as well. Should they match? The faucet just was installed with oil rubbed bronze.

Someone selected the ORB faucet....I am guessing that was you....so continue throughout the kitchen with the same material.
You are not required to use the same finish everywhere, but contiguous areas would look more unified with a matching finish.

No, the hardware doesn't have to match from room to room.

Something you might want to do is get a sample in each of these finishes to see what you like better- black, ORB , and the brush/satin brass. The 1st 2 will disappear a bit on the cabinets while the brass will stand out. There is no wrong or right, it's just what you would prefer.

If you are going to try the ORB finish just make sure that it has the same tones in it as the faucet.

Great looking kitchen, we agree with continuing the ORB as well throughout the kitchen.

I would do brushed nickel cabinetry hardware in the kitchen. You don't want all the same metal in a space. It makes it too boring and makes it look builder grade.
