it depends how desperate you are for a shower in this location. its not something i'd want to have in my powder room as i hate using a powder room when i'm a day visitor at someone's house and its full of shower stuff... i feel like i'm invading personal space.

but if you need a shower for quite frequent guests and this is the best you can do rather than have them go upstairs and use a hall bath, for example, and this is all code, then you should do as needs must.

i'd not buy a house with that set up tho without the means to undo the shower.

Nope. No one wants anyrhing that cramped unless the house is 1800’s and they have to settle for it. And, it is not code compliant. It would fail inspection.

If you get the shower large enough to pass, at 32”x32”, then there isn’t enough required room for the toilet or sink. The required 30” circle is the inside dimension of the shower.

Youd have to upgrade and do the whole room as a wet room to even get minimum code required clearances. You just added 10K to a 15K project.

That looks to be a real real tight space.. how bad do you need/want a shower in here?

I used to live in a complex with a stupid 5 x 5 powder room downstairs. A lot of wasted space, but not enough to create a bathroom to code. A lot of people did it off the books, but this is about the best you can hope for:

and that's with a 30" shower unit. If there is any possibility at any time of any municipal inspector ever being in your house, you could be prevented from selling if the bath doesn't meet code and this one surely does not.

ETA One person put in the smallest neo-angle available, and the results are even more crowded.
