"Staging" bathroom remodel

I'm interested in people's opinions/experience about what order of tasks a bathroom remodel should be done. We're having wallpaper removed this Friday as a first step, but beyond that, I want to make sure I'm doing this in a logical order. We're going to:

1. Replace enclosed fiberglass shower/tub with tub and tiled "alcove"

2. Replace vinyl floor with tile

3. Replace toilet (wall hung with exterior tank) - if there are other options besides American Standard, would love to know about them!

4. Replace vanity countertop(but not vanity)/sinks/faucets

5. Replace makeup light over mirror with 2 lights (one for each sink)

6. Remove "upper" cabinet, wallpaper (will paint)

7. Replace wood doda (with thicker piece) on toilet privacy wall

Thanks for advise/experience! Does anyone want turquoise bath fixtures?? : )

    is this DIY?

The work is not DIY (for the most part), but we're not using a contractor.

Okay so if you are not doing the work then who is if not a contractor. IMO since you are going to this much trouble why not a new vanity toomaybe post a pic of the floor plan I have no idea what a doda is and IMO there is no reason to have a privacy wall enclosing a toilet in a bathroom. No one should be using the toilet when others are in the bathroom. As for order you do all the demolition , water proofing , in your case toilet install then you add the floor the new tub, then tile and the new counter hopefully with a new vanity installed after flooring

DIY - means Doing It Yourself. It sounds like you are.

Thanks for your replies! By not using a contractor to handle all the work, I mean we are arranging it ala carte (perhaps semantics). Is that an inefficient way to do it ($$)? I though it would be more $$ to get a contractor/"project manager" to handle all the various tasks.

The dooda is the wood shelf on the privacy wall. The bathroom is roughly 10'10" X 4'2" (the width from wall to wall where you walk in door), with the shower on the back right (from the entrance) and the toilet on the back left. One picture is taken at the toilet, the other from midway in. It's a pretty standard long/narrow setup.

The remodel is for resale, so we are trying to cut corners where possible. The primary goal here is to get rid of the turquoise (sinks(2)/toilet/shower) and update the accessories (so faucets/lights over mirror). I also think getting rid of that upper cabinet will open up the room quite a bit. We did an update on laundry room with same cabinets (they are in the kitchen/dining room, too, arrgh), I've attached a couple of pictures to show idea. We have another full bathroom (master) we want to update also which will be a complete redo. . .$$

I get dealing with the tub first, definitely makes sense, and of course, that's the one tradesman I don't have lined up yet. . .

    Laundry room after

Flooring second to last and toilet last. Everything other that that is up to you.

Ugh, i wouldn't do a bath remodel for resale. Let the new homeowners pick!

I hear you, but it's not entirely for resale. This bathroom is starting to impact my self esteem, lol. : )

For your DIY piece - get a hammer/mallet and take down that cabinet near the sink and door - now you can breathe. Then remove that wallpaper. You'd then have space to put a towel ring on that wall near the door.

I'd call in folks to get an estimate on reglazing that tub to white. Now - get the rest of the stuff out of the bathroom, so that you can tile that floor and paint the walls.
