Durham Botanicals order arrived today!!

I splurged on myself and bought an Adenium from Durham Botanicals. It was a shape/form I would not be able to find locally, or be able to grow/create myself, without a bumch of trial and error.

So I decided to spend the 'wth you deserve it' fund on this plant...it arrived meticulously packaged & to be honest, I was a little worried because the box was so light, but the box was something like 18" long....

I'm so happy with this plant....pretty sure flowers are unremarkable pink, but the tree like form, I really really like. Can't wait to see it leafed out with flowers!!

That's a great lookin' carrot!

Nice branches at the top, and all in the right places, too. I see a "Baobab-style" Adenium in the making.... and after some root training, bet it would look perfect in a round bonsai, pot.

Nice plant! I got mine from Durham as well. I potted it up last month and its already pushing out leaves.

Yess!!! It sure does look like a carrot, doesn't it? loll!!! I'd love to say I had plans for this plant, but I do not.

Other than developing a nice root spread, (or not) I'm so pleased with it...all it has to do is NOT die, in my care

I'm pretty confident though, I've had adenium that my interest has waxed and waned over the last few years & they just wouldn't give up the ghost.

I might try a ratio of bark vines to pumice in a few of these Walmart specials, as I see Chris, of Durham Botanicals reccomends as such...

I've neglected mine at home during winter months, though under flurescent lights, I grow them really hard.

Oooo niiice Lonnie!! Can I see more?...I am resisting the urge to buy up more plants from Chris, until I can get home and survey my current population....soooo challenging!!

After I removed the plant from the wrapping, the soil remains left in the wrapper appeared to be pure Turface, no bark or other additives. I suppose that is what they use at the nursery. I repotted it in the gritty mix.

Really Matt?...that's interesting. Mine arrived washed clean of substrate so the only clue I have is what was on the website. Since I'm planning to arrive back in NY some time the middle of this week, and it's a bit of a drive, I've got a good while to contemplate what to use.

Though, the pure pumice has always served me well...loathe to fix what isn't broken XD

Both are Precious Gold. One of my favorite.
