That slab is gorgeous. Can’t say whether it’s too dark without seeing your kitchen, but in general if you have enough natural and electric lighting it should be fine.

If you have a dark island and white perimeter cabinets, do the same countertop material. Otherwise it's too much.

I love that quartzite! I had dark gray counters in a kitchen with buckets of light and they looked fantastic. Yours will be amazing.

Thank you for your input. It’s a new build and just realized I haven’t taken pics. Attached is the rendering. DH wants a carrera marble look-a-like quartz for perimeter countertop, but I feel the pattern might clash with the quartzite. I was thinking less pattern for perimeter countertop

I would not mix carrara w/this quartzite. each of them have their own look and movement.

are all the cabs the same gray color? if so, use quartzite for the island or the perimeter, and do a solid quartz for the other.

you could even do a soapstone w/your quartzite.

if you want the quartzite for all the countertops, then you could do a diff color island cabinet,,,say, a darker charcoal, black, or a walnut would look very nice.

@Beth Island cabs are charcoal gray. We want the quartzite on the island because of its beauty, quartz on the perimeter over white cabs. I like the the solid gray quartz as you suggested and glad to see it’d be ok with the quartzite. Thanks again!

I would love this on a walnut cabinet. it would be stunning. then I'd do the perimeter in a white with a light gray or white quartz.

look at the two middle ones. either of those would work w/your first pic.

you could try looking at something like this, but you need something with almost no pattern or movement.

quantum quartz. the upper two grays are nice.

and this one is White Princess (granite),

if you could find a slab like this coloring, it could work. the key is to find something w/the exact same coloring as your quartzite, and very little movement. if you don't, the two countertops will fight each other instead of complimenting.

The gray quartzite is called Platinum. Couldn’t find it on Houzz though nor photos in that dark gray color. What color backsplash would you use with the light gray countertop on the perimeter?

SR, it's best to wait until everything is in before committing to a splash. I'm so tired of white subway, so I know what I wouldn't use! (but you could use a longer format and do a herringbone. I do like that looks as opposed to a simple 3x6 layout).

some other options

what is going on your floors? try and bring in some 'earth' element w/all the grays/whites. maybe some walnut counter stools? wood floors? a runner w/some color?

i like this one even though it's mostly white. they've done a diff tile design, wood on the hood vent, nice runner w/some color and a darker island. (wood floors too, or maybe woo look porcelain)

these may not be for everyone, but at least it's some color and design

this is a cement tile splash w/Super white quartzite. I believe this is a tile very similar to the dark charcoal Nabi from tilebar. if you have decent lighting, this would be a beautiful choice even if you decide to do your quartzite along the perimeter.

DalTile Horizons has these beautiful iridescent tiles in a few gray tones. Tide and Moonlight are two of them. beautiful.

What is this quartzite called? It's just beautiful! I saw a similar one and can't seem to find any pics online. I'm hoping this is what it is. I can't officially find out until after this weekend when they open again.
