Was just thinking it was time to start planning! We're gone the last 2 weekends in Sept, Sundays work better than Saturdays for me but I can join late if I need to. My place is always available but I'm WAY south of the majority.....

I am pretty swap-ready. I have bunch of Fire Spinner ice plants potted. They will be pretty well rooted when it's swap time. The only thing is that Sunday may not work for me anymore if Chloe decides to enroll in Chinese school. I will find out more next week.

We have some stuff put aside so are looking forward to it.

Gardenchloe, the fire spinners are so pretty! But I need a spot for them. Will think hard upon it. :-)

I'm wondering if anyone wants raspberries. We have them growing over their assigned area and have been cutting them down but could dig some out.

Perhaps, I'm being too impatient to hear back, but I thought this thread would elicit more of a response. Wanting to start getting transplants in around the early to middle of September, only gives us 3-4 weeks...yes, I know, it's hard to believe September is just around the corner.

I thought there were a few that were wanting to host the next swap, but I could be wrong. Liz, I'm OK with you having it, or if others want a more central location, I could host again if someone else doesn't chime in.

Even if we don't have a host designated, we can all put out what Sept looks like (assuming that's the best time). For myself, I don't have any set plans in Sept (except Labor Day weekend), and can do any Saturday or Sunday.

Gardenchloe, I would love to get a start for your Fire Spinner. I've seen some of you pics and they look beautiful. A few helpful hints too, would go a long way too.

I'm doubt I will have anything to trade. I've been giving away plants already. But I enjoy the company.

We are totally open. Been putting some things aside so should have some interesting contributions.

I'd love to come, though I don't have much to share... I could dig up some oregano if there's interest, I suppose!

I'm gonna be heading out to the hills again and wouldn't be able to make it before the last two weekends (or weeks/weekdays) in September--or anytime in October. Probably won't have much time to be checking RMG while I'm out trippin', but will try to watch to see what day you all pick. Not sure how much I'd have to bring--I'm taking everything I have potted right now along to give to folks I know "along the way!" Could for sure bring a few Black Gem Aloe plants--it's a house plant!

If it winds up being a day I can make it I'll be there--wherever "there" is!

I can clear up my schedule for Saturday the 15th, would that work? Again, my place is always open but if the preference is to have it more central I am willing to drive! I'll make sure Flowerbelle is aware as well, once we have it narrowed down.

The only days that work for us would be the 22, 23, 29 or 30th.

We got hammered by the hail a couple days ago. Nothing I had potted up survived, even the pots are toast. Right now I have nothing to share but will check on things when cleanup is finished. I will soon be pulling up the whole garden soon so it won’t rot.

I’m not sure I have anything to share since we've demoed the backyard and haven’t got anything put back but baby and I’d be happy to come hang out with awesome people in someone’s yard that doesn’t look like a construction zone. Or does look like a construction zone. Really as long as it’s not my construction zone. I don’t have any grand plans in September.

Thanks, Greg. The tomatoes have all been removed from the home garden, saving a few damaged green fruits for a friend's green tomato pie. The pepper plants are all skeletons, but there's always hope for them in the next few months.

Hi All, sorry I’ve been Missing In Action! I am eager for the swap. I MAY be out of town September 14-16 but anything else is fine. I would also be happy to host, although it looks like we have lots of offers for that on the table.

I’m not sure what I’ll be bringing, I bet people are getting sick of Shasta daisies and rudbeckia by now? I’m sure I can come up with something else, I’ve got a lot going on back here. Gardenchloe, I’d love some more fire spinners.

Also, at the Spring Swap this year I got some Catmint Walkers Low, and some Plumbago, and I’d love more of both of those if whoever brought them happens to have tons! If it was you, let me know

Great we have at least 2 takers besides myself to the swap. Though it can be fun to have the swap, I will gladly have someone else host (though my garden looks it's best in the fall - thanks Gardenchloe for your kind words earlier).

Tomatoz1 - sorry to hear about the hail. We all put some much of ourselves into our garden, and having them destroyed hurts.

Rossnag1- I've been in that construction zone before as we've have redone the entire yard front/back and sides. I'ts a lot of hard work but it's so worth it in the end.

Faith I will likely remove most (not all) of the catmint left in my yard I started giving you. I do really like it (propagated the initial plant I purchased) but I have such a limited growing area (of course every gardener thinks this don't we) that I would prefer either a more vivid color or flowers that I can cut. I would love to get some of your pink/red coneflowers. The rabbits ate the one I had bought before but this time I will start with a little fishing line around, to ward off those adorable but very distructive little critters.

Faith you may have now done a disservice to yourself (just teasing) by asking for the Plumbago because now I too must get some. I had never heard of the plant but what I've read, it sounds like a must have and it's sounds like it is working well for you too.

We all may not have as many plants as we normally do to trade overall, there always seem to be a LOT of plants that come to the swaps.

Who ever brought the plastic bakery buckets could you pretty please with sugar on top bring some more? We have really used ours and would love one or two more.

Tomatoz1, sorry to hear about your crop. We have been really enjoying the tomatoes we got from you and it is sad to think you aren't enjoying them also.

I hadn't planned on attending the Swap this Fall since the hail took out just about everything in my home garden. mmmmm12, I am glad you like the bakery buckets - I use them everywhere! And to think they just throw them away. I will bring more for you even though I probably won't have plants to share. I'll keep looking around for survivor plants and maybe by the time the Swap comes around, I'll have a couple plants to share.

I am sorry for your loss. I would cry if my garden gets hit by such a harsh hail storm. You should definitely attend even if you don't have any plants to share this time. You have been one of the most generous sharers that we all appreciate. Your knowledge is also appreciated.

Purple lilac bush. Well established in pot as we took it out in the spring. It is small.

Yellow broom (just dug it up the other day). This has a short flowering season in the spring. Pretty sweet fragrance. Supposed to be drought tolerant but I just took this picture and it looks to be too big for the pot we put it in so if anyone wants to come get it now that would be great. They have been slow growers for us but seem to get about 4 ft tall and 3 ft wide from when we have seen them other places.

Sally Holmes rose - Is a cut start that has been in a pot for a while so should have roots. This is one of my favorites. But the bush is supposed to get very large so you would need alot of room for it. I put two starts in and they both seem to have taken. I may try and find a place for one but I'm running out of areas. You are welcome to the other.

Oranges n lemons rose - This seems to be living. A second one I did looks dead. The reason I have this start is that just after we planted it my husband ran over it with the dirt cart. It broke at the base. So I took the top, cut it in half and tried to root both halves just in case the roots didn't live. But it seem to have and one seem to have taken so you are welcome to it.

Gourmet Popcorn rose - Also one of my starts seems to be living with the other dead. Still watching this as it is fairly recent.

Raspberries - we can dig some out.

Tree that grows into large tree. Small leaves and long seed pods. Sorry don't know the name. If anyone wants one of these let us know and we can bring some to the swap.

Small asparagus starts. Have a few errant ones growing that we could dig up. They get over 5 ft tall and have beautiful winter interest. That is if you don't eat all the asparagus in the spring. which we have never been able to do.

Wait I don't have pictures of these so will continue this in another post before I lose this one to a computer hiccup.

I just got your message and will plan on finding more buckets for you, though I do have lots at home that I'll share, too. Even though I lost the home garden, I still have a meager area at our church community garden that got hailed on, but is looking better with some new growth. We've been picking the neighbor's crabapples to make juice for jams. Last night we were asked to help pick apples very high on the tree. Looking to make applesauce with most of them.

I don't have a lot of room for too many plants, but I will sure find room for asparagus, if you ever have extra. I'm hoping to re-do one 6'x8' area where I have mostly volunteers, especially columbines. My hubby calls it the 'slough' area since it's neglected. I've started with 3 very small currant bushes that are showing signs of regrowth.

We will dig up some asparagus for you. Here is a picture of the mature plants. They are over 5 ft tall. This year they got especially big. A few years ago we widened the fabric area around them and they filled it right up. The baby asparagus are great to eat in the spring and they tend to just back fill. We've never eaten all the plants so always get a nice bush out of it. It has winter interest and then needs to be cut out to the ground in the spring. Often it has fallen over by then.

*This is probably going to make no one want the fruit, but it may be infested with spotted-wing drosophila larvae. Yeah, I know, gross, right? That's why we're giving them away -- I know some people will just go "eh, extra protein", so I figure I'll throw it out there.
