We have this lovely little new to us lakeside cottage we are renovating and updating. So far in the main bedroom we have just replaced the icky brass ceiling fan, painted the wall behind the bed Simply White and found two sweet vintage bedside tables. But now I have some decision paralysis when it comes to the bedside lights and wall color.

For the bedside lights, do I go with table top, wall sconce or ceiling mounted? I do plan on a trim detail behind the bed similar to the attached picture and the ceiling mounted lights are lovely, but I'm not sure how easily installed they are or practical for night time reading. There are outlets beside the bed on each side so a wall sconce would be possible but how close should the outlets be to the bed - you can see one just outside the bedside table

I could also use some help deciding what color to paint the rest of the room. The door, hall side facing, is painted BM seaside blue which has some influence I think on the final color in the room. The inside of the bedroom door is white .
