Spots on Rubio Monocoat floor finish

We just moved into a new home with engineered white oak floors. I wanted the finish to be matte and to remain as light as possible and our floor guy recommended we try a Rubio Monocoat finish in Cotton. Although the color is a little whiter and grayer than I had envisioned, I’m cool with it and love that it doesn’t seem to scratch from the dog’s nails. My problem is that water spots (for instance around the dog food water) and other places don’t seem to wipe up if they sit for any time. They’re still visible after you clean. Has anyone else had this problem and do you have any suggestions?

A mat around the bowl (make sure water can't get trapped underneath. Wipe up water drips immediately. Place the dog bowl in a different area.

Johnson Flooring Co thanks, I’ve already done that, but you don’t always notice right away when something wet hits the floor. I’ve always had wood floors and never ad this problem before. Is there anything I can put on the floors to prevent it?

No there's not. Does using the Rubio Soap have any effect on your spots?

We're somewhat in the same boat. I have Rubio White in my living room which has an odd spot here and there from dog drips. It's coming up on 3 years old so soon I'll be applying another coat of oil in the hopes it takes care of the spots.

I have Cotton White in my master bedroom which looks quite decent but there's less light to highlight flaws than in the living room. Do you have any of the Cotton White oil left over?

Using the soap helped some, but if you use it to just rub that one area, you can see a smudged effect in the light. I’ll have to ask if we have any left over. Can you just reapply it, or does it need sanding?

I have the same problem! Would never use Rubio Monocoat again. Spent $33,000 refinishing my entire house with Rubio Monocoat Fume. Love the look. However the product is terrible and does not work. Within 1 week, my kitchen floors were spotting near the sinks. Water spots left on the floor discolored it. Prior to choosing Rubio, I read their product specifications and called their office in Texas. I read and was told that product can be used in kitchen. Wrong!! Spotting and discoloration after 1 week. Further the company does not stand behind their product.
