I live in a bilevel, so if you walk in the front door, you're on a little landing and can go either upstairs to the living room or downstairs to a hallway. The downstairs hallway flooring is oak luxury vinyl planking and the upstairs will probably be a different color of hardwood. I'm leaning toward stone tile for the little landing.

In a situation like this, what would you use to floor the 2 sets of stairs?
1) treads to match upstairs /risers to match the white trim everywhere?
2) treads to match downstairs /risers to match the white trim everywhere?
3) treads going up match upstairs, treads going down match downstairs, have a runner with both colors (and tile color?) to pull it all together?
4) other?
