I think either one is fine. The bronze might not show the dust and dirt as much as Black does in my experience.

Does the builder have a sample you could place against the siding?

No sample. The builder usually puts the same exterior lights on every single house they build here. However, ours is one of about 10 new homes going into an established neighborhood, and the ARC has asked, among other things, that the lights on each house be different.

What color is the metal roof? If it's bronze, I think I'd pick that.

My first instinct was bronze, just from reading the headline and seeing the thumbnail. With further info and larger picture, I would choose black, based on the metal roof color.

More important to me would be matching the light color to the color of the door hardware and the house numbers, if they are visible when you look at the door.

I would probably also choose dark colored covers for the exterior electrical covers, as I think of them as useful, not decorative.

Lyndee, I hadn’t even thought about the door hardware because we weren’t asked! It’s been an interesting build...we’ve been able to customize more than usual with a production builder, but many items just are what they are. I think the hardware will be nickel, but the door is black. We picked the siding color, but the other exterior colors were already coordinated with the Boothbay blue. The house numbers are black. I don’t like where they usually put them so we have to get ahead of them on that!

We hear you on the outlet covers. We have lots of little projects planned on our new house!

Actually, I don’t think you will notice much of a difference once they’re installed. I had the same question....black or bronze. I have a black metal roof, black hinges on my shutters etc. From a distance both colors tended to look almost exactly the same. Can you tell which color I chose??

When I was choosing my exterior lights I decided to sample one of each color. When i opened the boxes at home I thought they were mislabeled because they looked pretty much identical. I brought them back to the lighting store because I thought they made an error and gave me two of the same color....they were that close.

Either one will look perfectly fine. I think on my home the bronze still looks black but just a little softer and less intense.

Black. Roof looks black or dark gray, and that is more important element. Then stone is great accent.
