I worked with a charity that retrofitted their building using a vertical lift rather than a full elevator. The lift would hold a person using a chair and two other adults.

Good to hear it didn't cost that much. The commercial building may have needed other work to get ready that they lumped in.

We had a Garaventa hydraulic elevator, approx 5’ x 4’ internally, added to our new build. It will easily accommodate a wheelchair plus other people to ~1000 lbs. The “pit” required was only 4”. I don’t have the exact cost but it was under $20K Cdn. about 18 months ago.
