Congratulations, NHL! so pretty with the ruffles and all that gold - and strong looking!

Yep, that's a nice looking sport and I've heard Piedmont Gold is a winner too. It's other sports sure are. Well, I just had a look at all it's sports. That's a lot of sports that I don't really know much about. Evening Magic sure looks nice and Lakeside Symphony is already on my list.

IF it is piedmont gold .. and i have no opinion on that ... then it would be a revision ... not a sport ...

sport forward.. revert backwards ....

and i dont know if you can revert two times back ... maybe teager has some opinion in this regard ???

comparing PG in the library.. it sure looks like a young version ...

Thanks everyone! Unfortunately I don't have a Piedmont Gold, nor have I seen one in person, to compare to.

Ken, I separated the one eye last year. This year it is 4 eyes.

starting at the first word.. sport.. my eyes began to glaze over ... lol .. like they have been for 25 years ... lol..

let the nerds argue over it.. just grow the plant on.. and decide if it looks like PG .. and good enough for me ...

it would be very important.. if you were going to name and sell it .. imo ... unless you just said it was 'origin unknown '.... or 'divided from xyz' ... and then let the geeks argue about it ... but you could not or should not say it was PG ... unless we went all genetics testing on it ...

i was hoping one of the more current mavens had run across the topic in the journal.. or somewhere ....

NHL - I’d love to have a hosta that color. A lot of the “golds” are more chartreuse. Your sport looks like a very pretty yellow, and I like the green center where it comes up from the petiole (don’t know what that’s called). It looks great with all the plants you’ve posed it with!

The AHS says: "REVERT – change of variegated sport back to its original solid colored parent."

So the "parent" for Goodness Gracious is Satisfaction which is not a solid colored parent. The GRANDparent would be Piedmont Gold.

I don't know what kind of leaf substance Piedmont Gold has, but my sport seems to have the same texture/substance as Goodness Gracious.

As far as I can figure I believe it is a sport through---
