Looks rather like creeping charlie, Glechoma hederacea, but don't know how common that might be in FL.

Have you just tried pulling up to remove? That is often the most efficient and effective method of weed removal/control.

Does creeping charlie flower? Because I have never seen this flower.

I have been pulling them so far which is fine when they are not tangled in another plant.

It can........but does not do so frequently in my garden, if at all. But then I am pretty diligent about pulling it out when I see it, most often in the lawn.

Can't say it looks much like Glechoma to me. The leaves aren't scalloped, the leaf texture looks too smooth and they aren't wrinkled. And guessing from the size of the bark pieces I'm thinking the leaves are too small.

As to eradication, the answers the same. Pull it out.

Yes, definitely not Glechoma. It is, of course some kind of flowering plant - even if flowers have not yet been observed in this instance.

Geeze people!! I only said it looked like Glechoma, not that it was. And it does bear more than a passing resemblance in the leaf shape and arrangement and manner of growth.

Looks very much like a sticky weed I find here in Pinellas. Perhaps this?

If anything like regular common chickweed, should be very easy to pull by hand from slightly moistened soil.

Don't know the name, but I'd pull it now while the ground is soft from all the rain. It's a bit delicate and small and tends to break when pulled, and of course will grow into everything.

My yard is full of it and it does at certain times put out a sticky tear drop shaped seed that clings to cloth, fur, and bare feet like the dickens. I have walked across the yard barefooted and by the time I get to my porch i have my soles completely covered with the sticky green seeds. It is hard to pull as it put out lots of little roots so the main plant is pulled up but all those little rootlings are left behind.

Pull it while it's still small - before it goes to seed...

I think it's Drymaria cordata, also called tropical chickweed, and its edible. I think it's kind of pretty, and it only grows in the summer, so I just let it be, and toss it into salads now and then.

I have this in my backyard in the area that is partial shade. I too think it is pretty and am just thankful to have something growing in that space.

I'm also at peace with this plant. It sprouted at the foot of some small succulents along my pond this year. It seems to really compliment them in my opinion.

It really is a pretty little plant, and I've read that some people let it grow on purpose to cover bare spots in the summer. I like dainty weeds.

Its a dainty little thug...pull it.
