Only if you want to devalue your home. Change the trim to black, get rid of the overgrowth that is hiding part of your entry add some nice big planters on the stoop with seasonal colorful plants add a walkway from the street to the front door.

Painting is usually done to hide really ugly brick. Yours is attractive and not outdated. So painting will be a big expense that will need to be re-done over the years. It's a personal preference but I would not do it if it was my home.

My house is white painted brick and we love it. But as someone pointed out, people sometimes paint to hide ugly brick. Ours was definitely ugly. I've always loved painted brick, but if our brick had been as nice as yours, we probably would have kept it as it was.

Perhaps the odd cutouts in the garage windows simply snap out. If so, that would be a big improvement. No, on painting the bricks. I think a better investment would be a wider, more gracious set of entry steps, perhaps with some curve to them. Try a more formal style of landscaping. The overgrown, bushy plants are hiding the home and are not what one traditionally finds on a formal house like yours.

We love ours and people knock asking for the paint colors (wish I could say we had them). We are six years in and there are a few places that show the ugly Brick below, but I think we’ll make it to ten before it has to be repainted . do what makes u happy. Just know if you do you’ll also start a trend in the neighborhood if it’s hasn’t already started.

Here is a photo of before and after from Houzz.com. I am thinking of painting my brick home ivory and paint the shutters black or graphite . I think it will make the house look more updated and appear larger.

We absolutely LOVE our white painted brick home and we get compliments all the time. It has been painted for for 8 years with no problems at all. It's stunning.

That said, we had to paint it, because when we bought it, the brick was an ugly pink color and the grout was two different colors from a bad earlier remodel.
