Take a drawer from the nightstand to the paint store to match its color to a paint chip. Get a few fibers off the carpet (closet is a good source) and tape them to the chip. Take that paint chip to the store when shopping for new linens. If you have a white sheet now, you can just drape it over the bed to see what you think about all-white linens. Remove curtains first so you get natural daylight into the room when considering new colors.

BTW, you may be able to reuse the under curtains if they match the rug nicely and are in great shape after professional cleaning. Remove the swags and take a look.

For sure bedding before wall color always.

Whites (or any other color) in a room don't have to match. A room has more depth with different tones in it. Decorators do this all the time and there is a reason for that.

You will not go wrong with Accessible Beige. With white trim, it's gorgeous. (But I'm partial. That's what we have throughout our house.) The off-white furniture will go beautifully, and you'll have pretty much a blank canvas for bringing in the bedding of your choice. As Ingrid says, a room layered in monochromatic tones (particularly shades of white) has depth and is beautifully interesting.

I totally agree with above posters, you should definitely look into the bedding before you pick wall colors. You might want to go with lighter colored bedding, along the lines of beige, white, light blue color scheme. From there, it will be so much easier for you to put together the rest of the look for the bedroom!
