thank you,I really like how that looks. we are trying to paint the room in a way that can kind of define two separate spaces for the girls. like under the loft-princess, above-mentioned tomboy, then the rest of the room combination.... is that possible?

I'm not a designer, just a consumer like you. I think it's possible, just needs some creativity. Enlist the help of your daughters. There will be others here that can give you specific ideas for incorporating the colors in the room so each of the girls has their own space.

Anything is possible . I am surprised you have them sharing a room without a battle constantly. A desk would work under the bunk , I would not bother having 2 as most teenagers sit on hteir bed to do homework with a laptop,I would not paint specific colors on the walls , keep the walls very neutral then the bedding and some art for each bed space can be very different. As the younger girl ages her favorite color will change yearly so painting all the time is a pain . I would get some LED fairy lights for the bottom bunk too.Shelves are easy to place on walls , what do you need the shelves for? Maybe just a small bookcase next to the desk would work or a couple of low book cases to run along that wall with the window.

great ideas. under the bunk is the younger girls' bed. it's a long and thin bed,so it fits for right now. we have a lot of books, hence the bookshelf. they share because we don't have another bedroom :) before this we had a small desk fit under the bunk directly across the window, facing the window, for the oldest. she loves to draw there. the younger one says she wants a desk too.

time is on your side. your elder daughter will be spreading her wings before the younger is a full on teenager herself.

layout wise, does your younger do her homework in her room or do you encourage it to happen at the kitchen counter, etc. she might not even need a desk at all.... more like a small table?
