Marica, I grow my plants in the basement in a grow room year round. I have a 1000w MH HID light as a source. In winter the temps range from the low 60'sF to low 70'sF. They grow all winter, but slow down, so I don't think they go dormant. I think I will try the low cut and wait to see what happens.

Exploit the height....don't chop it.....grow the plant as a "tower" style.

If it's an un-flowered seedling, or a seedling with a flower that you don't like, graft the top with 2-3 buds from a plant with flowers that you like, and grow it out, training the newly sprouted top branches to go where you want them to go, bending them with wire, if necessary. Train that bean pole. Height is nice. Expose the roots. Maybe the rootage is more interesting than the top end, or, maybe not. Raw material is fun to work with.

What did you decide? I got leggy ones frm Roger, but can't touch till spring. If you cut can we see a pic?

Well...After looking at the plant again, I decided to chop it down! This is what it looks like. The second photo shows little projections, they don't look like new branches because they seem to be pointing out and slightly down, unlike what I would think are new branches. At this point I will have to wait and see.

The cut stem I am going to try and root by cutting into 2-3 inch pieces. I saw a clip on youtube from a person person who did this and was successful. Some people let the cutting dry others plant right away, some water and some don't. Experiment, trying different ways, whatever gets the results you are looking for.

There are nodes so should do fine. If you get the cuttings to root you can try multi grafting on the top if you want even more branches. Now you wait and watch (the hard part)
