We purchased an inexpensive oval table as sort of a placeholder for a similar dining area, thinking we were eventually going to get a round table once the construction was done. Turned out, we really like the oval table and are going to keep it. Oval tables are not great, though, for squeezing more people in b/c the ends can be too tapered.

No banquette in a DR they are awful to sit at . I am not seeing the table or the space on my monitor so hard to comment but Ikea has some nice tables for small spaces that would work with the kitchen.
