Art would look good, but you could just pull the sofa forward a hair and put a tall plant in the right corner with an uplight under it. I would ditch the container of dried grass - a shattery headache that isn't enhancing anything. I like your new hassock.

First, you need more light. From behind the corner of the couch, you could put the base of a big arc lamp, with an LED bulb. If you can, paint the wall behind the sofa in semi-gloss, then you can install temporary wallpaper -the BEST invention for renters! Tempaper is what I use. Then on the other wall, go on Etsy. They have some great artwork on there for very decent prices. Two large pieces or a three piece one would work. Make sure the colors in the art pull from your couch and colors in the Tempaper.
