If ever there was a justifiable reason for a quick spritz of Roundup, this is it. Do you understand that that you don't drench the soil at all when you use glyphosate? You don't need to saturate the air or the whole vicinity of the target plant in order for the applications to be effective.

I am one who avoids most pesticides, including the so called organic products, so I appreciate your concern, believe me. I don't even have any Roundup on the property right now, but would if I had a situation like yours.

(Note to kimmsr: yes, I know that water is a chemical, silly man.)

I would faaaaarrrrrrr rather resort to a mist of Roundup on the weed foliage as opposed to woven weed barriers or concrete!

My husband worked in agriculture for many, many years and is licensed by our state to sell/advise on the use of Roundup.

They’re right ^. MIST the green growing parts of the bindweed. Roundup must come in contact with the growing parts - Roundup sprayed on the ground or concrete or anything besides plant matter is inert.

Just to clarify, the strip is right against the house, 2ft wide, between the foundation and a concrete barrier, so it's shady and almost invisible. Nothing useful is growing in it - it wouldn't be a big deal to seal it with concrete and have no soil exposed to spread thru. So I was wondering about that.

The stuff will come up through the cracks that will be impossible to totally seal.
