Is that a closet?

if it is who ever builted this house wasn't thinking properly , if the closet is open the door hits the front door and if the front door is open the door hits the closet door . You could move your display shelf o the wall near the door and where the display is follow the idea that goforluca has . Enjoy your new home .

I would consider a hall tree coat rack with shelves or a closed wardrobe to the left of the door. If you want a closed closet for a cleaner look, perhaps something like this (found at Pottery Barn). Congrats on your new home!

Looks to be a cute place, but not well thought out as mentioned above. The TV is also right in the traffic path from the front door and the sofa is not facing it. If we could see all of the room, including the TV and the wall behind the sofa, we could probably suggest something to bring it from cute to really beautiful and workable.

What if you placed the couch (facing the patio doors) as a "barrier" for when you come in the front door. That would act as a hallway and then you could place hooks and such for your closet area. Place the tv in the corner where the one chair is right now. Then place the two chairs where the couch is currently.

Can't see the relationship between the front door and the seating area.

Isn't that a coat closet?

Thank you all for the comments, no TV in the room. Behind the couch is a wall with a painting. I will post another picture tonight. Thinking of moving the couch facing the sliding doors.

Thank you Corrine, looks like a great blog, cant wait to read it.. after work!

How about something like this but just a single unit. Maybe to the right of your door as your come in. I think Pottery Barn has something similar available.
