Hardscape or just a patio. :)

Actually, I'm just looking for brick advice.

I've picked up a ton of pavers (probably literally) off Craig's List and want to lay them down as the floor on my now-covered back porch. They're 4x8x1.5", so they'll lay nicely.

That said, I know I can use mastic to put them down on the concrete.

Given the tiny differences in paver size, I don't want to lay them edge to edge, but want mortar between them.

I can't just grout/mortar I don't think, because cleaning that up would take the beautiful white oxidation off of them. Or am I wrong and over thinking this?

Any suggestions would be welcome!

Thanks.
