Yes, it is big. The bookshelf is a built in and I think she’ll keep the same tv.

The first thing I would do is get a credenza for the TV that is lower than the furniture currently being used and mount TV on the wall a bit lower than it is now.
Next reposition th sofa so it faces the TV and place the rug lengthwiise in front of the sofa. Front legs of sofa should be on the rug. A bigger rug would work better.

It looks like you might be able to mount the TV next to the fireplace (between the fireplace and door). If you want a better layout, this might work better for you. Then we think getting one sofa and two chairs will work great. Then you can have a sofa facing the TV/fireplace wall and one chair on each side of the sofa.

These are some great ideas, thank you! I like the idea of trying to center the furniture more around the fireplace with a combo of matching couches or a low profile couch and chairs.
