Changing bedroom, what design do you like better?

Hi everyone. I am unhappy with my bedroom, so I am changing it. I need your help to help me decide which design you like better? Most of the items are from West Elm, Crate & Barrel and CB2. I know they are a little trendy, but I am not rich and I like these stores. I want to stay neutral for the fall and winter.

These are my two favorite beds. I had a light cream upholstered bed before and over the years it still looked good. I have no kids, and I was a 12 year professional house cleaner so I know the tricks to keeping things nice.

Layout- 1. Love the idea of a comfy chair in the corner by the window.

Wall decor- 2. Prefer the round mirrors for practicality

    One.

One but not with the wall art behind the computer

    #1. Beautiful!

#2 - Love the way the artwork is arranged over the bed.

Thanks you guys! Looks like one is winning. I have to admit, that I am drawn towards design two. I love the white morocco bed, I love the gold office chair and I love the plant. Is design one a lot or a little better to you? I am so torn. I am drawn to two, but if everyone likes one better, I should seriously consider one.

I don’t know about anyone else, but I was reacting to the arrangement of the furniture more than the individual items. Are the furniture pieces what you want an opinion on?

I was wondering about the layout like oaktonmom too.

What program are you using? It's beautiful.

Oaktonmom, I already own the desk, nightstands and all of the dressers. The artwork, bed, décor, chair and rugs is what I do not have. I guess the furniture placement and the overall design with the décor rug and art is what I want a opinion on. My friend help me build the room. We played with it for awhile and in the end I like these two the best. I am not good with building things on the computer. I am not savvy like that. I am better at measurements and finding the things I like and moving them around to where I think they will look best. I really do not know how my friend built the room, but it is really cool how he did that.

I can't see any reason why you can't use the Moroccan bed and the gold chair in #1

I have tried that, but the Moroccan headboard is a lot higher than the gray one. If I move the Moroccan bed to where the gray one is, the headboard will be blocking the window. I tend to fall towards a theme when designing and I think the theme of décor 1 goes best with 1 and the theme I have with two, goes better with two. I get caught up and themes. I am sure that is probably a bad thing to do, to get caught up in themes? That is where you guys can help me:).

I'm with you on liking #2 better. I don't care for the wood art behind the computer, nor for the wall hanging in #1. If you are leaning towards either of them, you should consider the comments, but in the end, choose the one that you like most.

I love two. Where did you get the artwork above the white chair?

Angela, I actually own the artwork above the chair. It will save me money if I go with design 2 on that piece that is. The artwork is from Crate & Barrel. You can find it in their prints. I think it cost $500.

I prefer the Moroccan bed to the upholstered one as it's a more interesting design. Gray upholstered headboards are ubiquitous.

I also prefer the more comfy looking gray chair to the white chair - I am assuming it is either or. Unless you want a chair solely for putting on your socks, I don't think the white chair would be a choice to curl up in.

I am not quite understanding the entire layout but I am also unsure of why you can't work the better designed pieces into your bedroom. If the issue is the height of the headboard couldn't you have a carpenter saw down the feet so they are a bit lower?

Moving the bed does change a lot of things, but I will play with it more. I really do not want to cut the headboard down on a new bed. Let me see what I can come up with. Thanks to the all of you.

I have always had a chair in my room and to be honest, I never use it. Honestly it would be more for a quick sit to change. So it does not have to be super comfy.

Well I must say that I love both, but in my opinion it would be nice if you combine #1 and #2.

I will use bed and mirrors behind chest from the first one, but bed position, wardrobe, chairs, paint, rug and details from #2. Plant is always welcome!

I prefer the bed position in #1. I would not want to wake up every day staring at those mirrored closet doors.
