Help with kitchen lighting - copper?

We are entering the home stretch of our kitchen remodel (woohoo!) and it turns out that lighting is stumping me more than anything else so far. Who knew?

We need: 2 (i think) mid-size pendants over the island, a wall sconce over the sink (preferably with long arm), and some track lighting or similar

We love copper, and are thinking that copper lighting would look good with what we've got (beige-ish cabs, butcherblock counters and shelves, deep blue backsplash, white walls, matte black pulls).

How closely do I need to worry about matching the tone/style of the various lighting components to each other? Are there good places to look for nice but not crazy $$ copper light fixtures? Is copper a bad idea?

Thanks for any suggestions, inspiration, etc.

Thanks! I'd love to see pics if you have them. Did you get all the same type of fixture, or mix and match?

Here you go! I think they changed the name of the pendant and the semi-mount fixtures but they are similar to the Rose City, if not the same. I have five of the small fixtures. I don't know the name of the chandelier, but I'm sure they have something similar still. It was 12 years ago that we built, and the finish has held up great. We have just started building again and I'm planning to use at least a few Rejuvenation fixtures again.

Thanks! Just spent a little too much time on Rejuvenation's site for the middle of a workday...but will be back there tonight!

What style are you looking for? Are you wanting to product line match the pendants, sconce and track light? It'd probably look best if at least the pendants and sconce matched.

What about something with bronze + black to tie in with your backsplash?

Remember you don't want too many "stars" in your kitchen. Right now your counters are gorgeous and stand out and so does your backsplash. Whatever lighting you choose should probably subtly highlight and complement those two, not compete for attention.

More simple styles with black and bronze

Thanks Sarah! Whether or not to try to product-line-match the pendants and sconce is one of the things I am grappling with, so thanks for that advice. I agree it would be nice to do so, but it would greatly limit my options. I agree that the lighting isn't going to be the star (counters and backsplash are) so want to keep them simple and not too larger or ornate. Yes, was thinking copper/black or copper/dark bronze.

That first image in your first post is beautiful - where is it from?

Was thinking about something like this from Rejuvenation (but with a black cord and fixture and the copper shade). Could do a matching sconce as well, though it's pretty pricey.

That would look really nice with your kitchen and it would be simple to match the look with a sconce that has a moveable arm like you wanted.

I liked the first one the most too!

OK, need to pull the trigger on these. Thinking 2 of the Rejuvenation McCoy pendants with 8" Antique copper shades over my 56" island, and an Imbrie sconce with the same shade over the sink. Any other considerations I should take into account that anyone can think of? Thanks!
