Like 20 years ago I stayed one night somewhere that had the world's thickest, fluffiest comforter. It wasn't overly warm and was somehow lightweight, but that sucker was AT LEAST a foot thick. Sky high. Like sleeping with a cloud. There was no duvet cover and maybe it was something about the material on the outside but it was this very cool (temperature cool), tight-weave fabric that was so crisp it was almost crackly, if that makes any sense. Not scratchy. Just crisp. In a good way.

It was incredible. And I've been thinking about it for 20 years.

Can anyone recommend something that might match this description? I keep finding reviews that describe comforters as "fluffy" but their idea of fluffy is like six inches thick, max.

Open to both down and down alternatives.
