The second was purchased potted with the label “pink rose.” It was in pretty bad shape, but is springing back to life very quickly. Wants to bloom its heart out. Blooms are bubblegum to pastel pink, only one to a stem so far. About 3’ high. Nice scent.

Any ideas? The pictures are rather faded, as the blooms are several days old, but hopefully will be good enough. Also, the blooms are normally larger than this, But they seem to directly correspond to the amount of water received. I let the pot dry out while these buds were maturing.

First one that is mauve but has some red tips I'd guess may be Paradise. Your second looks more like Gene Boerner.

Hmmm... thanks for the pics. :) Yeah, mine doesn’t really look like yours at all. Heirloom looks more lavender than mauve, to me. For some reason I had mauve in my head. Time to look elsewhere.

karen, thanks for the suggestions. I don’t think Paradise is correct. It doesn’t really have red tips, as if I pick it before the sun gets to it, or if it’s cloudy, it’s a solid mauve/pink all over. And my pink rose is distinctly fragrant, which I think Gene Boerner is not. Thanks for the ideas, though :)

That first mauve rose may be Barbra Streisand. I grew it a couple years ago and the flowers were, for the most part for me here in West Virginia, scant petalled like your second photo shows. <smile> Check out the photos at Help Me Find: Barbra Streisand at Help Me Find

Another try for the first - Miss All American Beauty?

Hmmm... thanks again for all the suggestions. :) I’m having trouble with the first. The problem with some of the possibilities is the blooms on my rose are small. At first I thought it was a mini. Fully opened, they’re about 2.5”-3” across. No big, luscious HT blooms here. But the form is there, especially in the buds. It has the most perfect, classic buds you’ve ever seen.
