Don't be an idiot and paint the brick. Just paint the window trim or shutters a different color. done.

Although I agree the trim & shutters need more color, your brick is awfully dark and could use an update, but not white washed either. Definitely, landscaping is in order!

Your porch is plenty big enough for seating etc.

Thank you for your comments. I've pressure washed entire exterior. The brick doesn't match where the house was added on by enclosing carport. The long shutters seem to be a one piece unit... very weird design. Is anyone familiar with this window unit? I would love to put shorter shutters on. just not sure. I agree that painting the shutters and adding window boxes will improve as well as landscaping.. I also plan to re move storm door... it's falling apart.

Get a good window guy to look at them. I would replace the window part with a longer window, down to the sill

Extend porch to the left and stop where the brick changes at the addition to downplay the brick differences, add a low railing and pickets between the columns to add charm, add outdoor rug and seating area on porch to create outdoor rooms on either side of front door, add hook-over-railing kind of flower boxes to railing, add mulch and ground cover and annuals across the porch for color, create a curvy path to front door.

If just the front of the house is brick I would paint it. The brick on the front of our house has been painted for twenty years with no chipping or peeling. We repainted it 2 years ago just because we wanted to change the color.
