Non-professional opinion.....I am going to assume that the piano has to stay and that you all entertain with it? That being said, the cabinet along the back wall should probably go so that a full couch (or even two chairs) can go there without blocking the door. Maybe you can select couches that are not as bulky. The end table is really too tall and, depending on your new couch selection, a new rug may be in order.

I appreciate the response :) I will get another photo soon but it IMO it won't show much, it is an attached dining room and where I am standing to take the photo is the limits of furniture placement for this room. The glass door at the end isn't functional, so leaving room around it isn't an issue. My intention was to get less bulky furniture, definitely! One couch and two chairs? 4 chairs? Eventually the piano could be moved to a different room but for the time being it needs to stay, I would like to keep the cabinet at the far end of the room too- they are actually the only 2 pieces of furniture that I am attached to in this room.

I like your room.....my only suggestion would be to get lighter colored drapes/curtains and fuller. Then I would take away the love seat and put a chair there like the one near you in the picture. Matching would be best but not necessary. I would take all the small things off the top of the piano and only one or three things. Is the couch centered in the window? Should be.
