that's cheaper than that "tru fuel" stuff they sell at the hardware stores. real gas in my area sells for around 5.00 gal. i've been using regular pump gas in my equipment and have 0 problems. just don't let it sit around for long.

I would think you will see more availability of non efuel in the future for recreational equipment users . Unfortunately it will be user driven . The burocrats only care about the bottom line $$ . The e94 has benefits within reduced engine efuel fouling issues , however the higher octane is of no real advantage within low compression small engines . Actually with higher hr run units such as gen sets the additional heat generated by the additional octane can cause engine damage . Better quality high performance chainsaws with high compression engines will gain significant performance benefits from the higher octane . Lawnmowers , cultivators , snowblower are designed to run best in 89 octane to mid grade 91 normally . The $4 bucks a gal is very economical however with supply and demand that likely will climb quickly . As 300 ' has indicated i also use mostly pump gas in small batchs and where storage is over more than a few weeks then Seafoam or Startron solves any long term issues .

E94 avgas is nothing more than 100 octane with the lead removed. The government sat on small aircraft engine manufactures years ago to come up with engines that could operate at altitude on unleaded fuel. It took them until now to actually start producing results..

E94 is no better than ethanol free regular 93 octane fuel sold at gas stations.

If you feel that you need to waste money on high octane fuel. Then start buying Cam2, VP or Sunoco racing fuel. Then you will get that 110 or so octane fix.. No wait they contain Lead... Actually illegal to use in lawn and garden power equipment.

Sorry guys, E94 is Mogas, which, requires an an STC in order to run in an airplane. It is illegal to dispense aviation fuel into anything but an airplane, but not mogas.

But E94 and MOGAS are two different fuels.

Attempts to replace the aircraft leaded gasoline by other fuels Because of the toxicity of lead tetraethyl many scientists studying its properties had suffered (including one of its inventor - T. Midgley), and some of them died. For the same reason the leaded motor gasoline was withdrawn from use (for example the USA at 1976–1986 and in Poland the last batch of E94 gasoline was produced by Orlen in December 2000). The researches made in 1994 showed that thanks this decision the lead content in the blood of U.S. citizens dropped by 78%.

Today other substances, including the increasing addition of ethanol, replace the tetraethyl lead. There are also attempts to introduce such gasoline into service as so-called MOGAS .However not all manufacturers of piston aircraft engines are giving their consent to use them.

When I was in the Military (1980-1986) Gasoline was better known as Mogas (Mobile Gas). And we used unleaded kerosene (Jet A-1), or a naphtha-kerosene blend (Jet B) (basically diesel fuel) in our helicopters and diesel powered equipment. Today I think everything uses the same JP-8 fuel for both jet and diesel engine fuel..
