Dining room color repaint

last modified: 8 years ago

My husband and I bought this 1880 farmhouse 2 weeks ago and are doing major renovations, so please excuse the messes! My question is about the dining room paint color. I painted it the pale gray shown, and I don’t like that or the BM Revere Pewter I tested on the drywall by the new back door. I’ve already repainted the kitchen that the dining adjoins, so I don’t want to change that. I also like the blue we put in the living room. I just don’t know how to make the dining room feel more warm and cozy when it’s in between the 2 cool colored rooms (yes, I put myself in this predicament!). My husband is completely opposed to continuing the blue from the LR in there. He loves red so I’m considering red accents and the same color from the kitchen into the DR if it wouldn’t end up too dark. my other thought would be forget the red and do BM silver sage with neutral accents. The wall of windows in the DR is south facing, the back door to the west. We will be installing new light fixtures. TIA!
