My local Wal-Mart had one of these for sale about a month ago. I googled it right there in the store and thought about it, but didn't get it. Went back the next day and it was gone, and I haven't seen one since. It was probably slightly larger than the one in the 2nd photo you shared, too. It came in with a shipment from Costa Farms/Exotic Angels, so it can't be that rare of a plant.

Sorry that I wasn't any help, I just had to vent that and get it off of my chest.

I have one from walmart/ Costa farms ive kept outside and neglected pretty badly. Im not home right now to get a pic but I'm pretty sure its what you're looking for. Id be happy share with you. Its a little straggly and sunburnt but there's a few good looking newer vines and is overall very resiliant. slantyways@gmail.com

Here in Georgia they currently have them at Lowe's and Home Depot.

@shally- thank you, though! I heard this plant gets straggly looking after some time. Need to take cuttings and re root! Common with this genus I guess!

is that string of hearts same as hoya kerrii??
also wondering what i had and randomly clicked on your post while searching for cuttings for myself and I think I "stole" a cutting of this teddy bear plant from a Walmart. is it??? I love it even more now if that's what it's called! please let me know.... also I pinch it back to make it bushier every so often

Lucky I saw this, I grow both. No that heart shaped leaf is Ceropegia woodii, which is actually pretty small.

Here:

Small Leaves. less than 1" big, trailing stems growth habit.

Here's Hoya kerrii which I grow Hydro, its large leaves are the size of my palms & this has thick, kinda gnarly stems.
