help me pick LR console table

Should I do a wood or metal and glass console table for the wall to the left behind the sofa.

wood:

metal and glass

ignore the piece on the right....there will be a chair or plant in that space.

    Hi, glfjjf. You're busy today!

I prefer wood and like the Ananda one from Ballard Designs. It has a decided Asian aesthetic to it. Do you have other Asian influenced pieces for this room?

Did you see the Rodan Console, also from Ballard Designs? It has an interesting base that somewhat mimics that of your coffee table and might work well with your more contemporary furnishings. Perhaps too rustic for you?

I also like how the Montclaire from from Ethan Allen repeats some of your other brass finishes. It's far more polished than the Rodan. I really like this one for your room. Super classy.

Manon Floreat - I am busy , lol. I am on a mission to get this first floor furnished. ...I have been putting it off for over a year.

The coffee table will be a larger table similar with glass top and brass base.

The Rodan console is too rustic. I don't have asian influence pieces in my house. I was conisdering the Ananda due to size/dimensions.

I have seen the Montclaire and I do like it. I need to check it out in and EA store.

I would choose wood. Why not put it behind the couch instead of back on the wall? You could add another lamp since the other lighting sources are over by the chairs.

I was thinking the same thing. I like either of the EA pieces. You have lots of awesome space for art. The sofa could be centered on the fireplace and the chairs brought out from the corner a bit too. Nice room.

The chairs are so far away from the sofa.

Imagine having a conversation with people on the sofa and in the chairs. Consider bringing the chairs closer to the sofa - flanking each side but perpendicular to the sofa. Put the wood console table behind the sofa. Bring the coffee table in a bit so it is about 18 inches from the sofa. Then measure the area for an area rug to tie everything together.

I love your floors. And your FP. I think you have a great room.

The pictures were taken prior to a couple of changes made. The chairs are pulled in, the table and lamp to the right of the FP is gone. The piece of furniture to the right behind the sofa is gone.

If I have a floor lamp next to one chair do I need a floor lamp next to the other chair for balance.?

Thank you all for the advice and kind words.

I have the EA sofa table you are considering in pewter. I really like the piece in my home. I do have several wood pieces nearby (not pictured) so I ended up going with glass to break things up. I also needed a piece with a finished back due to sofa being low. Here is a picture.
In your room I agree with others who have suggested going with a wood sofa table placed behind the sofa.

Are you planning to use cordless wireless lamps next to the sofa? otherwise that area will be dark and not conducive to reading if the bright overhead lights aren't on.
