Are you planning on painting the walls? White on white can be tricky and a bit boring. You say you want modern - if you paint the cabinets a warm white (look at paint boards against your tile) and then give the walls a neutral color like a taupe (pulled from backsplash) you will have a more modern and at the same time warm feel. Your backsplash is so interesting, painting the cabinets will make it pop.
