Light grey Revere Pewter Ben Moore. In back.. Dark Grey is Elephant Skin By Behr I had Ben Moore match it. Hope this helps.

In living room behind dining is revere pewter. White cabinet is with revere pewter also. Office and dining room are elephant skin.

I used Ben Moore silver grey in my master bath. It looks light blue and is very pretty with revere pewter. Not sure if you can see the color but here is a pic from when they were painting

You are welcome batgirl...It is HARD to pick a whole house color. I personally used Revere Pewter in about 4 rooms and I have to say it looks different in each one...I really love it because it is not too dark or too light. I follow Martha O Hara interiors on here....I picked my colors by looking through her page and checking the colors she uses...She is amazing!! Good luck...and enjoy your new house!! (mine is 20 years old...but I gave it some botox this year and redid the paint scheme!!) Just remember any paint company can make the colors you like from another!!

I think to choose the right colors it is really important to have a color plan. I created an app called Color911 which is instant help with choosing colors! The app ( Color911.com) comes complete with pre-made color themes. If you find a theme that inspires you, you can select colors for anything from paint colors to accent colors for anything, whatever you need. There are many themes to choose from, this is just one example II attached a color theme in case it helps you. I hope it inspires you!

nussear1 - so glad to hear that you like Revere Pewter. I really like it on my sample. I read an interview once in some house magazine, where a designer said you can never go wrong with that color. We're probably going to use it for our two story foyer, upstairs hall, living and dining room. I'm thinking of BM Edgecomb Gray (a shade lighter than Revere) for the back of our house - kitchen, great room, mud room. Holding my breath....but you're input has been very helpful! Thanks!

I used revere pewter in our hall and balboa mist in family room (gray/beige - calming)

I have edgecomb grey as well....will attach some pics. It is lighter than revere...I have it in my hallway which gets very little natural light. If it was in a room with more light it might look almost too light... You can not go wrong with any of the colors you are picking with white trim...

on my computer edgecomb looks most like the top pic. It is a bit less grey than revere and I really like the contrast of the two...but if I had a lighter room I would have either painted the hall manchester tan or grant beige...(to me grant beige is more grey than manchester tan...) I wanted a contrast to my grey room that made my grey LOOK grey. We built our last house and I can promise you..no matter what....you will be so happy with what you have picked. Don't worry....these are classic, yet contemporary colors, they look awesome with everything and are almost fool proof colors. Please send us some pics when you move in!! I love the sound of your kitchen with white cabinets. What did you pick for your counter tops? We are getting ready to paint those oak beauties you see in the background white and replace the counters. I am thinking of painting the island black. We are discussing counter top choices...so I would be curious what someone who seems to have a similar taste to mine picked!!!

Thanks nussear!! I'll have to get a sample of grant beige. I love the look of Edgecomb in your photos, but I've seen some on here where it looks more tan. I definitely want a gray appearance for my entire first floor (with front of house being the darker shade). I'll be sure to post pics - may be a while, as we keep running into delays. We're going with White American granite for our kitchen counters. It looks like Cararra marble, which would be my first choice, but I'm scared of it! I'm worried that within a year we'll trash it with stains (we have 3 kids). We debated doing a section of the island in butcher block or black honed granite, but ultimately decided to use the White American on all surfaces. We're still debating between honed and polished. If you want a lighter grey in back and a darker grey in front then look at rock port grey for front and revere pewter for back. Revere is a light color. edge comb is a really light color and it is not grey in my house. much more a cream like a linen color.

nussear1..I've been checked out of Houzz for a bit too! I am STILL messing around with paint colors (ended up I had more time than originally thought!) I bought a sample of Revere---love, love, love it! Definitely doing family room and kitchen in it. I may do living room, foyer, (two story) and upstairs hall in it. Debating whether it's overkill? I want dark for my dining room--bought a sample of BM Charcoal Slate, but think it's too dark. It would look black at night--not quite the look I want. So, I'm now considering BM Granite or Rockport Gray. Powder room will be Hale Navy or Newburyport Blue--thought I'd try going dramatic. Bought a sample of Stonington Gray for master--love it--we have Carrara marble surrounding a fireplace, and the gray looks great with it. I'm using another one of your colors--Silver Gray for sitting room off master, mud room, and mud room powder. Whew! My head has been spinning with these selections! Thanks again for the help.
PS...How's your kitchen? Any counter decisions? We changed ours from the White American (slabs I saw were too busy) to Sea Pearl quartzite. The Sea Pearl is nice b/c it has gray but also browns in it.

Just an FYI for you re: revere pewter. I painted my living room RP a few months ago after agonizing over finding a light gray. It's a very nice color but it is notorious for going green (I had heard this but was determined to try it). The room faces north and it is a very true light gray until about 12pm. Then it looks absolutely sage green until the sun goes down--seriously. I'm going to repaint it soon as I'm going to be doing a kitchen reno anyway.

Rhsmith 719---oh no!!!! Thank you for the heads up. That stinks that you have to repaint. Wow, now I'm not sure what to choose. Our two story foyer, which I was planning on painting RP, faces north. Definitely not looking to have it appear sage. Do you know what color you are going to repaint with?

I know it's a bummer. I'm about to renovate my kitchen and open it up to the LR so repainting won't be that big if a deal. I had my mother's interior decorator come last week. He said "I could have told you this color would change throughout the day!" He suggested BM Balboa Mist (I tried it and I'm scared it has green undertones too in the afternoon) or Sherwin Williams' Agreeable Gray. My brother and his wife have Agreeable Gray throughout their house and love it. I think it may be a winner. It looks A LOT like Revere Pewter in the morning (light gray) but it doesn't turn green. It might be a tad darker than RP so I'm going to try a sample of the next color up on the paint strip "incredible white" (not white at all). I'll post pictures during the afternoon light.

hi, yes, that's my house, although in the walls come off a little more yellow than reality. it's a very warm color, it leans towards brown, it does not have peach undertones. i had very little time to pick a paint color (contractor suddenly needed to know) so i brought in a decorator and he recommended edgecomb gray. it really is lovely. i've never liked a paint color so much....

Balboa mist is really growing on me. Try that too.

I'm attaching pics ( in differently lit areas) of the blue grays from the Benjamin Moore Color Preview fan deck, available for purchase online, in BM stores, and at Ace Hardware. I just built a home in the past few months and sampled quarts of about 20 gray shades from BM and some from Sherwin Williams. I highly suggest painting samples on dry wall squares from your local Lowes or H.D. Most grays look muddy or green by certain lights; and change or cure given a week or so.

My favorites turned out to be the silvery blue undertone grays. But as you can see from my pics, they change according to the amount of light in the room. Unless you have extraordinary sunlight in a room, I would go a little lighter than you think you would prefer.

I absolutely loved pewter 2121-30, for a mid tone--not revere pewter which is beige brown toned. I liked deep silver 2124-30 too, but decided to go lighter. Silver half dollar 2121-40 was pretty. Oxford Gray is a definite blue with gray mixed, November Skies is the lighter version of that. Wolf gray, Pikes Peak Gray, Gray Timber Wolf, are more gray with a touch of blue. Sweatshirt Gray, Shadow Gray, and Thundercloud Gray were very comfortable grays. And Distant Gray and White Diamond are white with just a tint of gray.

I would suggest finding one or two colors you are comfortable with for the walls of entire first floor. It gives a home better flow and can be easily tweaked later. Once you have lived there a while it will be surprising how your decor may take a turn toward different directions than anticipated. Have fun with it, and please post more updated pics as you play with the colors.

For those of you looking for a counter top that looks like Carrera marble but is quartz, there's a new product by LG Hausys called Minuet. I just put it in my newly renovated kitchen and it's really pretty. A lot more durable than marble!

can anyone tell me if revere pewter throughout my house except for my bathrooms which will be painted pearl gray compliment each other? I was told a pearl gray in smaller bathrooms??
