We are considering purchasing this house. It’s a great price in a great neighborhood and has had all of the expensive items replaced in addition to being remodeled..... I’m getting hung up on the exterior though. I’m not very familiar with mansard roofs (and I’ve seen some photos of beautiful homes with them!). Can someone give me a few ideas on how to work with this? The huge window with the front door is throwing me off too - I’m guessing the whole neighborhood can see in at nighttime (the house is vacant so I can’t drive by at night to see). Is it possible to reconfigure that huge front door window and put a portico in between the bottom of the window and top of the front door? Also how do I make the mansard roof look nicer? At first I thought of painting the lower brick a creamy white color and then doing dark trim around the windows but I’m not sure that would look good.... maybe painting the lower brick charcoal? Help! I really love the neighborhood but don’t want to buy a house that I can’t work with because I have no idea what I’m doing. Thanks in advance for any advice!
