Redoing bathroom

I am remodeling my master bath by removing the tub and having a walk-in shower installed (with seat), adding a new cherry vanity, vanity top, mirror, lighting, and flooring. I am going to use some sort of white marble porcelain tile (Carrara, Calacatta, etc.) in the shower area. I want to go with a contrasting vanity top, seat top, and curbing. My idea is to use some sort of black granite. Or, should I stay with the white theme for the vanity, etc.? I have searched the web and can't find many images using the marble/granite combination.

Another dilemma I have is I intended to purchase the 24"x48" porcelain tile for the (5'x4'x8') shower walls and use a very fine grout line to make it look as though it is one piece. But, I then wondered if I should go with smaller tile (24x24, 16x16, 16x32, etc.) in order to have more surface area to try and match the vein design in the tile.

Any ideas would be helpful.
